It’s been a long, cold and extremely wet winter in Australia. But the signs of Spring are just starting (I have a beautiful grevillea that’s blossoming red!).
4 days off since January, saving my leave to come to England for an epic wedding at Kew Gardens! Love your newsletters Earthworm Dan, and pics of little babe walking through gardens!
You don't see a lot of grevillea's round these parts - what a lovely flower. I wish you well to enjoy it! And I too shall be attending a wedding at Kew Gardens later this year. Coincidence...?
Finding your newsletter has been a joy, Dan, so have a lovely break. The location looks perfect.
As to my own hols? Only 2 days in my home state of Tasmania in a tiny colonial town called Oatlands. It's winter here so it was a wonderfully chill winter break!
Thank you Prue, I’ve really enjoyed your comment correspondence! And the fact that having this newsletter has allowed me to connect with people on the other side of the planet, such as your good self.
Congrats, and I hope you enjoy your break! I’ve been wanting to visit Masungi Georeserve, a nature reserve and wildlife sanctuary here in the Philippines. Your post made me commit to really planning the trip for sometime this year!
Lucky you! Beautiful family and time spent doing what you love: writing and writing about nature and its delights. No "bullshit" job, as the late David Graeber described. Enjoy your break!

Love the way you write - the description of the Surrey Hills was excellent. Have a good break!
Thanks Simon, that’s very lovely of you!
Congrats Dan, you are doing great work! Glad you are taking a break-- so important! Enjoy!
Thanks Kim, that's so kind of you to say!
