I've not seen Prospect Cottage, but I have visited Dungeness a couple of times and I can't get enough of its amazing landscape. It's so different to anything else I've seen before, it's almost otherworldly. The Pilot Inn is rather nice too! Can imagine it's pretty bleak in the winter though. But I find myself randomly thinking of Dungeness from time to time and find myself looking at the beautiful (but ££££) houses you can rent and imagining having a cosy weekend soaking up the strange atmosphere.
Yes, I too have been sucked into an online vortex of Dungeness-based holiday rentals. I would absolutely love to stay in one one day - maybe the converted watch tower? Or an old railway carriage with views out over the Channel? Time to start saving up the pennies... Still, even as a day trip there is so much to be enjoyed there - glad to have found another fan of the Ness!
Thanks Boaz! And I'm glad you agree that Prospect Cottage is a pretty awesome place. I don't think my pictures are terrible, but they definitely don't capture the otherworldly nature of the landscape. A very cool and unusual place.
Love your in-depth writing. Thank you. I'm happily browsing past issues. Love the multi-media aspect as well. Thank you especially for what you wrote about going paid. I'm considering doing that soon as well, and it helps to see how other people talk about it to their readers. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for the kind words and support! And good luck with your own adventures into the world of paid subscriptions. It's a bit daunting, but when the time is right, you'll know!
Earlier this summer we spent part of our holiday visiting gardens in England. It was only after we returned that a friend said, "Oh I wish I'd known you were visiting Great Dixter. I would have recommended you see Prospect Cottage." And ever since she said that, I've seen references to Prospect Cottage, and Jarmin himself, absolutely everywhere. Clearly a missed opportunity!
A missed opportunity, or an excellent excuse for a return visit to southeast England?? We are very lucky in this little corner of England to have so much horticultural excellence on our doorsteps.

Welcome back! And I've never heard about Prospect Cottage – thanks for introducing me! What a cool spot!
Also, I'm looking forward to the subscribers-only content!

Thank you so much Astrid, both for this comment and for your enduring support!
